maryland has broken its contract.
it is time for voters to reclaim their power.
Maryland has broken its promise to voters and taxpayers. The budgets are out of control, taxes are inefficient, excessive, and wildly distortionary, and politicians in Annapolis are failing us year after year. It is time that we take back what is rightfully ours.
Pursuant to Article XVI of the Maryland Constitution, we will upload a petition for signing after the General Assembly has passed the budget. This will freeze line-item appropriations increases in the General Fund. Annapolis needs to listen to taxpayers.
While we did not want to take such dramatic action out of the gate, our politicians have left us no choice. It does not matter what we tell them or how we vote, the taxpayers of Maryland are simply treated as something to be exploited for ever-higher appropriations.
Elected officials must learn what it means when the people to use their power. Sign the petition, empower yourself, use your voice, and reclaim what is rightfully yours as a voter. United, we can tell Annapolis that enough is enough.
